The Company stands for the People Mar 02 2013 Vasiliy
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The words of Sir Vasiliy Eisenstein, an elder Questing Knight in service of the Emperor and the Company of the Phoenix spreads through the city of Akko, by word of mouth of the people...

While the Dogs of William, the Sword of Lextius move to oppress the voice of dissent, the voice that calls for freedom, they neglect their duty to protect the people of Yathrib and Akko. In favor of chaos and a war that will envelope all of Yathrib and the Known Worlds, the Sword of Lextius ignore the plight of the people.

As criminal and foreigner threaten health and home, such as the abduction of children into a life of slavery, the Dogs of William turn a blind eye. Know now the Company of the Phoenix stands with the people of Akko. If you are threatened, call for us, and we shall answer. Where William ignores you, we will protect you. For the good of the Known Worlds we protect you. Those common folk of Akko who will not sit idly by as your homes are burned to the ground and your neighborhoods are overwhelmed with debauchery and crime, send word. The Company of the Phoenix will help you, we will train you so that you may defend your home from the Criminal and the Foreigner.

Baronesa Unleashed Mar 02 2013 Momoko
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A video from Momoko appears, broadcast for people to see. There is one thing that will be immediately apparent. She is buck naked. Arms covering her breasts, sword in the ground before her, hands on top of the hilt, blade covering her private place. She doesn't seem abashed, not at all, not at even blushing, she has the iron will. The camera does not pan, though you can hear snorting in the background that quickly dies down before there's a quick slip of a side view of her, revealing her supple behind and side boob shot, then yelling and the camera is back on her front.

There's a long moment of silence and Momoko begins to speak, "Hello William," soft, sultry, "I bet you like what you see. I bet you'd like to take me into your bed chambers for a good row wouldn't you?" She wiggles her hips for emphasis, "Unfortunately for you, you've been a bad boy and bad boys need to be punished. Are you trembling with anticipation? That my hand will slap across your soft flesh and leave a mark? Or perhaps you'd like this." She moves her hands up and down the hilt suggestively.

"Or maybe you're one of those men that likes this," and the sword is lifted, angels sink, bare baronesa is bare. The sword is pointed at the camera, boob can be seen, "Well too bad, you don't get any of that. I'm going to kill you. Whether that be by sex until your life expires or asphyxiating you in my breasts is up to you. Or maybe I'll just sword you. I'll leave that up to you you naughty boy." Wink.

Order in Alivere? Mar 02 2013 Lysandra
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disorder threatens in Akko, but in Alivere, it seems someone is making an attempt at limiting the chaos. Baroness Lysandra has started marching some of her armsmen - about fifty of them - into Alivere and the surrounding townships on what appears to be a mission of...either mercy, or order. They bring food and medical supplies to the people of the area, and the Baroness herself was seen standing up to a few of the crusaders who protested the action. Later, criers were sent to read a proclamation at various public spots.

"Alivere has fallen. No one has had more reason to wish for that than I, who lost my son to its machinations. But there is nothing to be gained in needless brutality. You who took the walls with me may squabble over who will claim Alivere all you like. In the meantime, I will do my best to see that there is something of Alivere to be held when you are finished. There will be no more execution of citizens. There will be no more rape. Do not doubt that I will see further injustices returned upon those who commit them.

Citizens who feel threatened may approach representatives of the Baroness Sepulchre at the camp outside the walls. Crusaders who object may take it up with Count Oultrejoyeaux. Or they could stop acting like children and start acting like the barons they'd like to be."

There is a camp set up outside the walls of Alivere manned by men from Claudius' Tomb, who will indeed take complaints, dispense aid, and offer relocation assistance to citizens who have lost their desire to remain in Alivere.

A Poisoned Fruit Mar 04 2013 Vasiliy
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the early morning hours Monday, July 13, 5001. The refugees of Pilgrim's Landing are greeting by a rather large man and a small entourage of nobles and knights. They hand out bread and food, enticing a crowd to gather around them before the largest of them, Sir Vasiliy Eisenstein, speaks out:

Refugees... people of Pilgrim's Landing, please hear my words. Not a day ago the Dog William spoke to you. Offering you succor, offering you gifts, offering you a fruit of joy. But I warn you... that fruit is poisoned. William has stolen that fruit from good people, hard working people, there has been no tribunal or no court set out that have found them conspiring with the Barbarian. No William tears their shop and homes from them simply because they speak. He removes them from health and home on lesser grounds then the Kurgans removed you!

I understand though, you scoff. You ask me to look at the squaller you live in, the pain and suffering you go through. You scoff as I ask you to turn down the aid that William has promised you. And I do. But know this, if you turn from William, if you stand from the people of Akko, we will owe you a great debt. When the Tyrant is removed and put down I promise to lead an effort to raise Camp Aleph and Beth out of the grim and muck. I promise to give you a true home, to give you a true place, until the Holy City is open once more for your return.

Public Notice Mar 06 2013 Julien
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let it be known,

In keeping with the feudal obligations of Crow's Landing, and in assisting the good Countess Amber with the defense of the realm of Johburg as is my duty and pressing matters rendering us unable to meet in a timely fashion to officialize matters, I am sending a company of my faithful Crusaders to Teldam to reinforce the armies there garrisoned and to help curb the infidel advance on our lands.

Lord Julien Hawkwood, of Crow's Landing.

No Confidence Mar 07 2013 Chiaka
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It has come to my attention from the mouth of Sir William's own men, particularly one Sir Jonas Welk, that they do not believe he can keep order in the State. I made sure to clarify what he meant, but he did not deny, or even defend Sir William. As a Peer I find this gravely concerning. It is one thing for the general populace and peerage to have such feelings, but it is quite another when it comes from his own lieutenants as well. And while I was an early defender of his credentials, I fear this statement and recent events prove I was mistaken.

I am equally disturbed at Sir William's diplomatic faux pas of taking a member of the Antipodes al-Malik hostage, as well attempting to capture the heir to said county - one does not use violence to escort someone to protection, especially not one who is not of his juristiction! His skill at diplomacy is lacking in what we need right now. Especially as he has further spat in the face of the Emperor by accosting his Knights!

It is thus with a heavy heart that I must call upon my fellow peers of the Curia to press a vote of No Confidence against Sir William to relieve him of the post. We need true leadership in this time of war, and while Sir William's Battlefield accomplishments are without blemish, it is apparent he is not capable of the heavy duties of the Constable of the Crusader state. Then Sir William will be free of the heavy burdens of Constable to lead his forces and others against the Infidel, where his talents as a battlefield commander of renown will see him able to most well serve the Pancreator on this benighted world and away from situations that may gleam an incorrect impression that such a faithful man is a traitor to the Empire, when it is so readily apparent he is just tired and overstressed from duties beyond his ability.

Walk in the Light

Sir William Mar 09 2013 Chiaka
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So it seems Sir William is so insecure in his reign he resorts to treason when a Peer so much as questions him. As a result, I rescind my previous defense of the coward. And I name him base. No longer do I defend him, instead I claim he is completely unable to do his duties. No longer do I feel he is merely looking for an honorable way out, instead he seems to have his back to the wall, greedily holding onto and seizing power. Greedily holding the Protector himself hostage to fuel his mad gains! Even the Church opposes him! And he publically opposes the Emperor! He claims I utter unlawful dissent? Quite the contrary, he forgets I am a peer of the Realm and allowed to call for such things. And I notice he makes no claim on his man either. The man whose words drove me to question him. There is only one traitor between us, and it is he. A traitor to the Crusader state, and more importantly, a Traitor to the Empire itself!

Hawkwood to Hawkwood Mar 09 2013 Azrael
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A video transmission appears of a noble wearing a white body suit with a purple trim, a bit of his purple cape resting on his shoulders. He's sitting somewhere in a comfortable white chair and a golden Hawkwood symbol on a purple banner behind him. "My name is Sir Azrael Alexander Hawkwood. Even though you can't see them, excuse the rather unacceptable condition of the place I'm currently transmitting from."

He rests a foot over his left knee, then gently taps his fingers against the armrests. "Now, anyone watching this is probably wondering 'What is this unknown knight doing transmitting in public?' Well, it's rather simple. I came to this planet and very quickly learned of the harsh and complex situation on all sides. And then I learned that one William Hawkwood is exploiting the war for his own personal gain, rather than actually aiding his fellow nobles. Completely unbecoming behavior for anyone of my house."

He holds a hand up to someone off camera, as if gesturing 'no, I don't want that', and continues to talk and stare at the camera as if nothing happened. "I'm told that your plan is to use Yathrib as the launching pad to overthrow the emperor. The //emperor//. Letting people die for some pathetic power grab. And of all things, committing blasphemy by doing it in the name of the Pancreator. I will not have it. I've stood by long enough, saying 'What can I do?' I'll tell you what I can do. I will put my reputation, my life, and even my freedom on the line to challenge you to a duel. If you truly believe in your values, if you are truly guided by the Pancreator, then you should be able to beat me, a simple unknown knight, in a duel. My honor as a Hawkwood vs. your honor as a Hawkwood. I will not allow my house to be dragged down by such behavior."

The Lord Constable Mar 16 2013 Maximino
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
31 July 5001:

Let all know that the Duke of Fallingfire is grateful for the hard work the Lord Constable has done. Sir William is a faithful man, an unflagging presence at the head of Yathrib's ship - a man all those who swore upon the jumpgate can see as a leader among men. My brother has written to me and commended him, and I know that he has the trust of the true architect of our victories, the Pancreator. May he be ever-victorious, the chosen prince of the almighty for Yathrib.

War is Declared Mar 19 2013 Renaud
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Since the arrival of William the Butcher to this world, I have tried to stay a steady course as the Count of Leon. I have suffered his insults in silence. I have rebuffed his attempts at every venture and moment to undermine the Curia. The Theocrat William is here for no purpose other than destabilize the Empire's order and win this world for his hubris, with the backing of his off-world allies.

To do this, he needs to destablize and destroy the ability of the Curia to function. He wishes to push those of us who are loyal to the Empire and to the Crusader State to violate the laws he uses against us, laws enforced by the Curia and the Crusader State, no matter how unjust or who passes them.

But I have refused to do this. Geoffrey of Akko has refused to do this. Even when William has attacked the Chancellor, taken hostages and interfered in the sovereign workings of the individual counts of the realm, I have refused to raise arms against him. I am a devout man of the Pancreator, and what God Wills, will be.

But William has violated the Law.

William has violated the law of the Empire, to which Akko bows. The Empires law is that none save the Questing Knights may try their own. In violating this law knowingly, William forfeits his position as Constable of Akko - He declares treason to the Emperor and he declares HIMSELF an enemy of this state that my forefathers have fought for generations untold to defend.

The County of Leon calls upon all bannermen to raise arms. We call upon all loyal members of the Curia to join in voicing their denouncement of William the Butcher.

And I - Renaud Germain De Moley of Yathrib, 17th Count of Leon, 4th of my name... I declare war upon all who support William the Butcher.

From Haqq Mar 19 2013 Momoko
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mailed on really expensive letterhead and delivered to all nobles and William personally is the following message in text form. This is the video form of the broadcast.

The screen pops to life as a noble broadcast appears throughout the proper channels. Momoko is back, but this time fully clothed. And tense is the word as the introducer is visibly sweat dropping on the screen.
"Uhm..We have a..a special..uhm...mess.." And then Momoko comes in from the side and tosses him out of his chair. She is no longer nude, rather she is the perfect example of a mixture between Hazat and Li-Halan Nobility. The armor she wears is plate, black painted, red stripes down the sides, the symbol of her own personal family line engraved upon her breastplate: A stylized Rose amidsts the ruins of buildings in a wide expanse of desert. The meaning clear, the rose within the desolation. Around her shoulders is a cloak, the colors of Li-Halan, the specific symbol of her mother's family in the back, you get a glimpse of it, the symbol of the Naganaka. Then she turns and sits in the chair, the camera focuses on her, her features grim.
"Sir William Nathaniel Geheris, Knight Grand Commander of the Swords of Lextius, Constable of the Holoy City, House Hawkwood. You have set a date for the execution of a questing knight. You have, yourself, stripped an office you have no power to strip, arrested and aserted authority over a man you have no right to do either with. You have thrown out many loyal shopkeepers, merchants, farmers and simple folk. You have taken their homes and slapped them in their face by putting them up for public auction. You have insulted the office you were given, Insulted the Swords of Lextius, Insulted the name Crusader, the name Knight. And lastly, you have insulted your faith. You have insulted the Pancreator. I will not tolerate these insults any further. You have set a date: On that day you mean to execute a person worth more than you, though it isn't hard, because even the lowly pig is worth more than you. In fact, even pig's shit is worth more than you, because at least it tends the ground it falls on as fertilizer. Let it be known, I have set my own date: One week hence, you will die. If you dare not show up for cowardice, I, and my men, will pride ourselves on your men's deaths and the saving of one Sir Joscelin de Moley. Why? Because you pissed me off. Let it be known, Momoko Adelaida Hazat is many things, but she is not a kitten and she is not someone you fuck with. You have fucked with my milk William and I am going to pull your entrails out of your body and use them as string for my play time. If you wish to take my lands? I have only one thing to say: Good Luck."
        And then she's gone.

Church Ultimatum Mar 20 2013 Agravain
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We, the Lords Spiritual of Yathrib, to our faithful sons Sir William Nathaniel Gaheris of the Order of the Swords of Lextius, Constable of the Holy City, and Renaud Germain De Moley, Count of Leon, and to all faithful sons and daughters of the Holy Church and all to whom these presents may come, greetings and the blessings of the Pancreator!

As keepers of the Pancreator's flame, we view with grave concern the storm growing between the Constable of the Holy City and the Count of Leon. We acknowledge that there may be abuses of authority, but that is a matter for the Church to address with one of its sworn knights. In the name of the Pancreator, stand down your forces. So, too, in the Pancreator's name, we call for a suspension of any executions or seizures of persons and land. We call for an end to hostilities and the return to the status quo ante. It is not the Pancreator's will that His children war with one another, nor that the long-tended balance of affairs on Yathrib or the rule of the Guardian and curia be endangered.

Heed our words, faithful children of the Pancreator. Stand down from this course of destruction. Should this not be done by the dawn of next Restday, we, in accordance with our sacred role as protectors of the Pancreator's faith, declare that the City of Akko and its territories, and the entirety of the County of Leon, shall be under general interdict. All church bells will be silenced. All divine services shall be suspended. The Pancreator's grace shall be withheld until these abuses are corrected.

This is the will of the assembled bishops and mitred abbots of Yathrib.

Given on this, the 5th day of August, the feast day of Saint Eusebius, in the Year of the the Pancreator 5001, it being the 2278th year since the Prophet saw the Holy Flame, and in the reign of his Holiness Hezekiah the Elder, Patriarch of the Universal Church of the Celestial Sun, the 29th.

With the assent of my brother Bishops.

Picking up the Sword Mar 22 2013 Antonio
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Given in person by Conde Juan Antonio de Rolas y Justus del Hazat, Lord of Oultrejoyeaux, Castellan of Joyeaux, and Conqueror of Alivere, before a gathering of Akko's Crusader Captains, and repeated in his name by heralds and posted throughout the city wherever crusaders gather in number:

Holy warriors of Akko, native-born or far-traveled, hear my words!

You have all come here for a singular purpose, to raise blades in service to the Pancreator and for the destruction of the heathen hosts of the Caliphate. For many of you, as it is for me, this is a life-long pursuit, a task from which there is no rival calling or distraction, no rest, save what the flesh demands. I know many of you looked to Sir William as a man who could give you that calling, lead you to the victory you sought. I can make no more sense of his death than any, carried out at the hands of his own priest, but it is, as all things, the Pancreator's will. And we cannot forsake hope, we cannot let our spirit fall. We cannot rest, for our flesh yet has strength.

When a soldier dies, it is up to his comrades-at-arms to carry on in his place. It is up to them to lift a fallen banner, to shout their battle cries all that much louder for the voice that has fallen silent. It is up to them to carry on the fight, and honor their fallen friend's memory with victory. Thus to all of you, I say: one has fallen, but others still stand. Upon our borders, the Kurgan are ready to make war upon us, and we must stand tall against them. If you are yet ready to fight in the Prophet's name, then depart the walls of Akko, its squabbles and its intrigues, the politics that would turn a priest upon his own penitent, that would turn knight against knight, faithful against faithful.

If you seek holy battle, your cause yet awaits you, as do those committed to it.

Join me!

Deus Vult!

The Shape of the Future Mar 23 2013 Maximino
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 August 5001

We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of the Lord Constable. Sir William was a pious knight in St. Lextius' own model - a lord whose Lord is the Prophet. His shocking betrayal and murder should sadden us all, and that it come from the direction it came must tell us that evil rots even in the purest of places. Fallingfire mourns him.

Now, however, we have a void at the heart of our world. The Constable is dead, and these latter events have proven that the Chancellor is ineffective and too-closely tied to the half-Kurgan al-Malik of Hydessos. We need strong, faithful leadership under the firm guiding hand of the Church to carry Yathrib forward.

I propose that the Guardian appoint my vassal Earl Caelwyn Ichiro Li Halan to the office of Constable of the Holy City. I further propose that he dismiss the Countess of Johburg - her unsuitability for the prosecution of war is manifest - and name instead Don Antonio de Rolas, the Count of Oultrejoyeaux, to the office of Chancellor. Together, they will make the Crusader State truly a realm dedicated towards the Crusade and obedient to the Church.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Written Proclamations are posted around Akko, most heavily in and near the Inner Ward:

Let it be known that the Brother Battle find ongoing criminal activities to be unacceptable. Reports of Burnings and Retribution find their way to the Mount. The Brother Battle will continue to respond to and disrupt illegal burnings and retribution killings. Burning of those who worship the Pancreator are in the hands of the clergy only and usurpation of this privilege can lead to incarceration or inquisition. Survivors of our interventions will be handed over to the appropriate civil or Temporal court.

The Brother Battle urge any who have concern of what has gone on to seek Confession. If you have any concerns of the actions you have committed seek the guidance of true priests and confessors and let them show you the path back to the Pancreator's light. Let your souls be cleansed as we move past these last few weeks and recommit to our brother's and sisters facing the Kurgan Plague to the North, East and South. Let your prayers and your support be with them. Let Righteousness be the Word.

Recall the words of the Prophet:
Yea, the Pancreator's light is as all-illuminating as the sun, but legion are those who would turneth away. The Righteous is more excellent than his neighbor, but the way of the wicked seduceth him. Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way, and he that hateth reproof shall die. The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Pancreator but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

The words of Acolyte Moroko of the Brother Battle.

It is a word that hangs heavy on the native lords of this world. The Van Gelder, the De Moley. The Justinian. The Al Malik. The Mortimer. It is a word that burns the tongue and leaves ashes on the lips. The Betrayal is not just a time period, but a scour and scourge mark upon the souls of those who survive it. It is a word I prayed I would never speak again in such a context.

But betrayal comes again. Lord Martin of Newbridge and his traitors army. He has destroyed his bridges. He has marched on Sidon, and by reports, captured it while the Justinian and Auberry armies clashed in Arsuf and Iderios. The Scarab has marched closer than any of us care to contemplate this day.

But Martin the Deceiver runs farther away. While I do not hold Martins' Vassalage, that belonged to Olivia of Auberry, as the second Lord of the house of De Moley, that my Uncle need not sully his hands or lips with this mans name, I, Renaud Germain De Moley declare Martin the Deceiver forfeit of family, forfeit of name and forfeit of honor.

His name will be stricken from the rolls of this family. All titles, honors and awards will be stripped. All claim to the house, to the family and the legacy of Jackson and Godfrey De Moley is taken from him. Any who speak of him as a De Moley offer insult to the house of De Moley and will be answered thusly.

All good men of the De Moley are hereby required to do him harm if they see him, to damage him and his holdings upon opportunity and to cast him out of their hearts.

The armies of Leon stand ready to assist Auberry in repulsing this new Betrayal. As for myself... I am going to kill the traitorous little viper.

By my hand and my authority -
        - Renaud Germain De Moley, 4th of his name, 17th Count of Leon.

The Rule of Traitors Mar 29 2013 Antonio
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Soldiers of the faith:

Yathrib's history is rife with stories of betrayals, of lords who sell their faith for gold. Lord Mortimer is only the most famous. To their ranks we now add a new name Lord Martin de Moley.

The consequences of Lord Martin's betrayal is obvious. Soon all the faithful of the realm will fall upon him, and he will have but two choices: to flee into the bossom of his foul sponsors like Lord Mortimer before him, or to die within his stolen walls. This end is obvious, and by the Pancreator's name, we will see it done. To this end, I call on every able Crusader in Akko to raise arms and march north along the pilgrim road. We will show traitors to the faith what righteous retribution awaits them.

But this incident calls far more into question than this one man's honor. House de Moley bears the shame of its traitorous kin, no matter how quickly they rush to disclaim them. How far does this disease of treason spread? Surely, there are brave and loyal men among the family, but surely where one traitor prospers, others must dwell. In such circumstances, it calls into question how the Lord Guardian can expect faithful soldiers to honor him with fealty, when his own kind and kind cavort with the enemy.

Therefore, I call upon the Lord Guardian, Geoffrey Jackson de Moley, to make right this situation by the following actions:

- Firstly, in the absence of a Lord Constable, and lacking the time for political prattling, that he command immediately that available direct vassal forces of Akko join me in my march. Words will not assuage us that the de Moley keep true to faith, only action will.

- Secondly, to abdicate his position as Guardian, that the Curia might choose someone trustworthy for the task. In my own experience, I know Lord Geoffrey to be an honorable man, but as an honorable man he must accept responsibility for the failings of his House and make right their actions. His continued rule, the flying of a traitor flag over the home of the Crusade, will damage the morale of the very men who fight for him. In time the light of justice will shine and his House may be redeemed in whole or part, but until then, he must bear the consequences of the action of his kin.

I shall take rejection of these requests as confirmation of de Moley complicity in these treacherous events. Stand with them, and know that you lay down with serpents.

In faith,

Conde Juan Antonio de Justus y Rolas del Hazat
Lord of Oultrejoyeaux, Castellan of Joyeaux, and Conqueror of Alivere

Rise for Sidon Mar 30 2013 Olivia
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There seems to be a lot of crying from men I presumed were warriors, true soldiers and commanders. Alas, true colors unveil nothing more than babes weening from their mother's teat.

Allow me to remind you of your place then; A true warrior does not ride the coattails of a traitor to make his own proclamations and does not point fingers to the masses with vicious attempts of threats. A true warrior is one who rises above the mire and is a beacon, a shining example for others to follow. There is only one man I know who has never wavered in my eyes and right now that man, Marquis Karl Justinian is facing a vile and heinous betrayal.

It was not but a few days ago that I had the traitor, Martin, of no surname and no house, in my dining room when I called him out for being a Kurgan spy. Yes, I did so to gauge his reaction. I am but a fledgling in my position, but I had the man in my clutches. By my vow to the Pancreator, that will never happen again. I /congratulate/ you, Martin, for it was a truly well executed plan. Sadly, it is Auberry, House Decados, House Justinian and House DeMoley that you ultimately defied. The odds are not in your favor.

I now call upon the warriors of Oultrejoyuex, Johburg, Leon, Olivet, The Bees, The Vines, those faithful of the Church and the full support of House Decados to stand with me and Auberry. Put aside any prejudice and personal vendettas. I assure you that once Sidon is reclaimed, you can all go back to pointing weapons at each other. Monsters come in all shapes and sizes.

A Cry for Unity Mar 30 2013 Lysandra
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If House de Moley are serpents, then I will gladly stand with them as they hunt down the vermin who scurry in the darkness, living off the leavings of better men.

To call for the resignation of the Guardian on the basis of a distant's cousin action is nothing more than reactionary nonsense. Would Count Antonio have us call for his own resignation on the grounds of the unclean actions of those who share his peculiar affliction? We are each of us our own men and women, not defined by the actions of those who share our name, gender, or characteristics.

My friends of the Crusader State, allies and family, colleagues and comrades, now is not the time to turn on each other. Now is the time for us to stand strong, true, and loyal in the name of the Pancreator and the Crusader State. Let us cease this divisiveness. Let us stand as one. Let us guard each other's backs, lest we find another dagger thrust into them. Divided, we are weak and easy prey for any who seek opportunity. United by faith and purpose, we are blessed and driven by a greater power.

Let there be peace in the Crusader State, that we might bring war to its enemies.

On Current Matters Mar 30 2013 Katerine
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As every De Moley suffered deeply and permanently from the Betrayal of the Mortimer House so long ago, I am dismayed and disheartened at the complicity of Lord Martin with the enemy Kurgan, to the detriment of us all.

As to the proclamation of Count Oultrejoyeaux, I would like to thank him for a good long laugh, which has broken an overlong bout of morose humors brought on by Sir William. The De Moley flag is no traitor's flag, and I note his convenient lack of pronouncement of such for the sigil of the Hawkwood, when Sir William was putting all of Akko to his uses. Doing such would have no doubt been inconvenient to the Count. But what was truly funny was his call for Geoffrey De Moley to first put Akko's forces under his own direction, and then second to resign from his own position out of some percieved shame for Lord Martin's independent actions. And, to boot, he insinuated that others of the De Moley house must 'surely' harbor traitors.

And so I wipe a mirthful tear from my eye with gladness. I encourage Lord Geoffrey De Moley to hold fast to his office and continue to serve to the best of his abilities. And should he cave in to Count Oultrejoyeaux's demands, he is every bit what the Count claims he is and indeed should not hold his post as Guardian. But I am confident Lord Geoffrey will not do such.

As for the rest, Count Antonio can sod off.

Momoko Hazat, traitor Mar 30 2013 Midare
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It pains me to remind people that Sidon is not the only, nor the first city to fall this season thanks to the betrayal of those who were trusted to stand by us as brothers and sisters in arms. Please, I beg, do not forget Ghilat in the race to reclaim Sidon.

The screams of raped women and slaughtered children echo, freshened in my mind every night by nightmares. Ghilat was not only taken, it was brutalized-- vengeance for other lost battles, for the victories of others. They took back in blood and pain what they lost elsewhere.

When I came to Yathrib I heard constantly of the Traitor, the one who cost the Faithful so much. I understood only in theory the bitterness and rage toward him. Now I understand it in whole.

Ghilat has been betrayed. Not once, but twice. The first traitor was dealt with swiftly by Count Antonio and his skull is dust beneath my feet. But one traitor yet remains.

To pledge one's army to another-- do I need to explain to seasoned warriors and commanders what this means, all the implications? I think not.

Baroness of Haqq, Momoko Hazat, came with her armies to defend Ghilat. At our first battle she decided she did not like our plan, and so refused to participate. That, and the subsequent betrayal of my Taiffa lord certainly factored in how the outlying farms were burned and people slaughtered. Then began the siege. This I could forgive. She remained with her men in the city.

What followed, I cannot forgive, for it brings shame not only to her but to all of us, for it is a betrayal of the faithful by the faithful.

Baroness Momoko Hazat of Haqq, you broke your word. You bet a city and the lives of all within it on your rampant ego, and, losing, simply left with a shrug and not a word.

You are a fool. You are an oathbreaker. You are untrustworthy. Face me, now. I do not care what the odds are.

Let the Lotus Bloom - Ghilat Mar 30 2013 Midare
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A proclamation goes out on behalf of Baroness Midare Kirin Rinzetsu Li Halan.

Let it be known that, having feasted and had it's fill, the Kurgan army fled before the avenging forces of Jopha and Don Sans, knowing that without the benefit of traitors in our midst, they could not but fail.

Still they have left ruin, death, and anguish in their wake. The expulsion of the Kurgan as well as the slaughter of Ghilat's citizens has left smouldering ruin, and a void that needs filling.

Let it be known that all faithful refugees, homeless, and displaced will be welcome to Ghilat. Be remade as you make it.

Abandoned land will be parceled out. Assistance will be given to rebuild homes and businesses. In return all we ask is that you embrace Ghilat as Ghilat will embrace you. Give fealty to the Rinzetsu Li Halan, who will protect you.

An Audio recording of a Sermon Mar 30 2013 Bevelle
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"In the name of the Pancreator, the Prophet, and the saints of the celestial Court, we ask for your guidance and blessed mercy for this communion, in your holy name, we humbly ask, amen."

"This offering is done in the names of Saint Almathea and Saint yara, to offer nourishment to the flock."

"The Prophet came to Yathrib, walking along the shining coast where in Leon he was bowed to by a feral Lion, then he crossed the River of Joy and made his way to revelation, where he had his vision of what the church was to become, it is for this reason that we are here on yathrib, to protect and take back our holy place, where our Holy Prophet started this. This Crusade is to be a selfless act that we as the pancreator's children do in the name of our Holy Prophet, and the pancreator, yet greed and suffering run rampant, gestures of kindness are forgotten for eager gain... this is no what the prophet saw, and it can lead to a dark, tainted soul that will surly drive us all down the wrong path."

"Compassion is what this crusade must be about, to know that the right path is taken, and that our holy land is sacred enough that we would cast ourselves unto sacrifice for such a cause, but that does -NOT- give us freedom to commit sin, pillaging, raping, and the darkest of evils are committed, even in this city, I say to you, and rightly so, how can we all claim ourselves children of the Pancreator, and pilgrims of the Prophet if we are to commit ourselves to such actions? We are not. if every person was to do a kind deed everyday, we would not have the suffering we have today, if men and women would put aside pride and prejudice, we would not have the hatred we have today.Should compassion be lost, then we are ALL unworthy of the light of our lord prophet, and the grace of our creator, THINK on what good deeds you have wrought, or what crimes you have turned a blind eye to? Are we not all equal in judgment of our Pancreator, are we not all judged by his light and grace by our actions? The suns fade, and the sins heap, and I say unto you all, that this can no longer be the norm."

"Our enemy is not out there, it is not from some other planet, our enemy is within us, and we have to fight, I SAY TO YOU, fight that dark enemy which will bring us to ruin, how can we face each other, when we are so low? As a Brother Battle, I fought for the Pancreator, and in his name I gave sacrifice for every drop of blood split on the sands of this holy planet, and as a healer and priestess of Almathea, I mend those who has suffered, without pause, and without fail. If i could, I would burden everyone's sins, and walks with that weight upan my shoulders, but that is not the pancreators will, we cannot let the burden of our sins rest on the shoulders of one person, for it brings ruin, we must burden our own sins, and help our fellow people, we must have compassion for those less fortunate."

"And so I say to you, people of the pancreator, show compassion, show kindness, for it is not a weakness to be kind and feel for your fellow person, but cowardice to turn a blind eye, to allow hatred, bigotry, and apathy. Slavery, murder, greed, and envy are part of the problem, look to your neighbor, and do good deeds, in the pancreators name, at the behest of the Prophet, and the celestial court of saints, we pray, amen."

Shame on Joyeaux Mar 30 2013 Momoko
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
August 20, 5001. That is the date that everything changed for the crusader state on Yathrib. The betrayer Mortimer struck at us once more. A new betrayer revealed themselves, his name is Martin, a houseless noble that claims the lands of New Bridge. The day that many died as the kurgans took Sidon, A day where allies became enemies over a dinner of encouragement. The ultimate sin in this is not the betrayal, not for me, not for a soldier. The ultimate sin in this was depriving a warrior, all of them, of their right to an honorable death. The betrayer used the guise of a joyous occasion, of a time when all should be united in the war that was upon them and when all reaffirmed their duty and willingness to fight. The men of Sidone received instead a dagger in the back while they were drugged. They were killed dishonorably, deprived of the single right a warrior retains in all ages: The right to see your killer. While it is always better that a warrior pass from this world quickly, as any warrior should not wish to inflict a slow, painful death on another, it is sad that this event was marred with the traitor, marred with the men who will never know their killer. They however are in the Pancreator's hands now. They are being welcomed into his arms, into the arms of their kin from ages past.

However, a greater injustice has occurred. I shame Conde Juan Antonio el Gozosa Corvado de rolas y Vivar de Justus, del Hazat. Using this betrayal as a political platform is shameful to our name, to our people, to Yathrib and to the Pancreator. How dare you sully the deaths of those warriors more fully than they had already been sullied by using their memory in your Machinations. I will not support such a thing. I deny such a thing. You should deserve the memories and weights of those deaths crashing upon your soul. Moreover, using this as an easy political platform to call for the removal of the guardian and incite civil war is further tarnishing of the noble warriors who lost their lives to allies. You, Conde Juan Antonio el Gozosa Corvado de Rolas y Vivar de Justus del Hazat, are shamed. Were it within my power I would see you striped of your ties to our family, to Rolas, to Hazat, but it is not my place. Instead I will simply curse your name and refuse from this day forward to refer to you by your proper name. You are now Conde Juan Antonio el Gozosa, houseless noble, to myself.

Know this however, if you declare Civil War, you do so without my support. You do so without the support of Haqq and her troops, without the support of myself. You do so knowing that you will garner yourself my rage. You do so knowing that it will lead to your death. And should this not appeal to your sensibilities, you are more than welcome to attempt to take my lands. I will fight all who curse the honor of other soldiers.

Signed this day, August 21, 5001

On Treason Mar 30 2013 Sans
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I stand here, helping the poor and downtrodden of Ghilat, I hear the heralds state the precious 'golden' words of Baroness Momoko Adelaida, who calls herself the Tower of Haqq. A child weeps beside me, calling for her mother, who has been violently raped and slain by revenge-driven Kurgans, men who fled upon seeing the might of the army the uncle of this arrogant Baroness mustered to provide relief for his vassal.

Fury is the only sentiment that I can express as I behold these broken gates, the ruined walls, the burned down homes and the many corpses we are to bury this night. Indignation for the fallen, for the woman who has the /gall/ to speak after betting someone else's fiefdom, someone else's /people/ on her so-called prowess with a blade.

Your fury is nothing but the tantrum of a spoiled little girl, Momoko, and I shall show it to you very soon: I hereby challenge you to a duel on Hazat terms: scimitars, armor, no energy shield. It shall be to the yield or the death, whichever is it you choose. But rest assured: a true warrior will be made of you, or you will die in the attempt.

So say I, Don Sans Sebastian Jose Reyes Victor de Aragon, the Iron Hand.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've heard the cries of Don Sans, who stands beneath me, and Baroness Jopha, who stands equal to me. Perhaps you should both go read a book on tactics. The Don Sans that just challenged me to a duel thought it a good idea for forces to strike outwards at a larger force of ground troops along with extra companies of Bombers, Artillery and Tanks. Within mere seconds their lines were scattered.

The Baroness Jopha's plan relied on the enemy attacking on the day of the 20th of August, yesterday, the day the betrayer struck. This would not occur. The enemy commander had no plans to attack at all at any point in time. The additional details of this plan are for her to reveal.

Should Don Sans, the lesser of me, or Baroness Jopha, my equal, feel I have acted in a less than responsible way I encourage them to attend to that through the proper channels, namely, a council of peers, or the curia, as has been the case for ages. Should they not wish to do this, then it is clear they have no grounds.

Additionally, let me make this clear, I am Li Halan as much as Hazat. I am Naganaka, a priestly line. I do not duel. I do not duel to prove my prowress with a sword, I do not duel to give someone their honor. I do not duel for sport. I duel when grievous insult has been suffered, when the situation presents itself as a situation deserving the duel. I duel to accomplish tasks, to protect. I do not duel to restore the honor of another Baroness, nor do I duel at the prattling of someone beneath me.

Momoko-- enough Mar 30 2013 Midare
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i believe what the Baroness of Haqq is really saying, is that she only duels when she can bet someone else's life on the outcome. or hundreds of lives, as the case was when she and her Ego rode out to duel over the fate of Ghilat. She does not duel when she has outrageously offended, or done wrong. Perhaps because she knows her shame.
I need not define the nature of a duel, nor explain to a populace-- already well aware-- of the significance and importance of such a thing to our society. Of all the great houses, there are few that place as much importance upon it as the Li Halan and Hazat.

Yet one who /claims/ the blood of both these great houses refuses to honor the tradition, offering some trifling excuse about my youth, or that this offense is not worthy of a duel.

Is age a signifier of quality now? Do we offer respect and allegiance based upon years, suddenly? If so, perhaps it is time we disqualify both the elderly and the young from the honours and respectful traditions of our society. If so, Momoko, I would suggest it time you retire, for your senility is showing-- in your 'challenge' to William it showed. In your disgraceful behavior at Ghilat, and in every word you have spoken since.

I call upon the great houses of Hazat and Li Halan to answer for their daughter's shame. Will anyone stand in her place, to regain the honour she has spat upon and trampled? If so come forth. If no one can step forth to fight in place of Momoko for the honour she has lost our houses-- if no one wishes to atone for her crimes, I offer another option. Cast her out from your midst. She is unworthy of her claims to either of these great houses, and I think it likely an imposter. For I have never heard of a Li Halan who would succumb to such shame.

Great Houses of Li Halan and Hazat-- disown Momoko Hazat, or stand for her against me.

From Johburg Mar 31 2013 Amber
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the headquarters at Margat:

Even when all else between the Shining Gulf and the foothills of Moab had fallen to the invaders, Johburg stood with Akko, and together we kept our standards flying in defiance of odds greater than the Crusade faces now. We sought to serve the Pancreator by loyal adherence to our oaths, sworn in the name of the Creator of All and freely binding ourselves to each other and the Crusade for which this State was brought into being.

The very notion that Johburg should breach those oaths and turn upon the Lord Guardian now: that is truly abhorrent. The pretence that by the very act of standing by his own oaths and keeping his standard flying the Lord Guardian is thereby guilty of treason is a patent fallacy. I and my men have faith that Lord Geoffrey will fight, as he always has, against those who seek to harm the Pancreator's faithful, and we of Johburg will be honoured to continue to serve under his command.

And we are deeply honoured, too, to stand alongside those of the mantis, rose, axe, and all others who have already publicly reaffirmed their pledges.

Heeding Don Antonio's call for us to turn against the Lord Guardian would only serve the enemy: for, as events thus far in this campaigning season have demonstrated, it is through our own divisions that the foe can best hope to gain victory.

Remaining faithful,
