Order of the Broken Dome Jan 01 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sir Cephus of Justinian continues to make his rounds in relation to what has now been named the Order of the Broken Dome. It is rumored that he is seeking meetings with nobility and has already met with Amber and Lysandra in regards to the Order. Results of his meetings thus far with the nobility seem to be rather favorable. And the esteemed knight continues to make his rounds. Garnering support, commitments, and pledges for the cause!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Father Agravain has been seen amongst the camps, lately, with Lord Hugh, encouraging crusaders to join Lord Hugh's force headed to Revelation. While the message is well-received, some in the camps are saying that Agravain and Hugh have far more temporal goals in mind; this whole effort smacks to them of an effort to accrue their own glory, not the Pancreator's. They drip with gold and fine things while asking pious men to go to their deaths!

Bells of St. Palamedes Jan 01 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bells of St. Palamedes the Redeemer rang in celebration this evening as Father Abbot Agravain van Gelder was installed as the new leader of the ancient monastery, the first off-worlder to assume the throne of that see. Archbishop Clovis performed the brief ceremony, as befits the installation of one of the mitred abbots of Yathrib, and then there was a celebration held in the chapterhouse, with many fine abbey-brewed ales and cordials available for sampling.

Sir Joscelin and Lady Lysandra were both present for at least part of Abbot Agravain's ceremony, though after some rather loud whispering - and pointed looks from Lady Linnea - they slipped out of the church. They were not seen again until later; the unkind might say they were less than perfectly put together, just as the unkind might comment that Lady Lysandra is some years Sir Joscelin's elder. That there are lions in the Cote-Leon is a matter of old and ancient agreement, but who knew there were cougars?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A party of Amaltheans set out for points unknown, supposedly to recover a relic of a noted healer - and they returned with the relic. That is the simplest of stories; more complicated, perhaps, is the look on Sir Cephus' face of shocked horror, or Sister Odette's sunken, guilt-struck eyes, or the way Captain Paulo cradled a broken arm - or the blood-soaked Sister Naima with a new, terrifying pink scar across her throat. Kurgans were encountered in the desert, it seems, and victory is sometimes hollow indeed.

Peerless Talon Sails Jan 02 2013 Anonymous

The Peerless Talon, the gun barque of Captain Sir Zakaria Haidar al-Malik departed from Akko Harbor under full sail with the evening tide, fully laden with supplies and her coal bunkers full, bound for parts unknown.

Believed to be aboard the vessel, in addition to its captain, were the noted Space Privateer Baroness Avenal, Lady Captain Chiaka Justinian; the Baron Helborg, Lord Hassan Al-Haww ibn al-Malik; and Apprentice Miles Fortius of the Brother Battle. Their purpose in sailing, however, remains enigmatic.

Spice Market Brawl Jan 03 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rumor circulates, in the middle of the Spice Market of Akko there was a brawl between the woman known as Sister Mirva of Brother Battle and Baroness Alysenne Katerine De Moley. The slug fest continued for quite a bit until Baroness Momoko Adelaida Enishi stopped the fight as the Brother Battle reached for a bladed weapon. The fight dispersed and Baroness Momoko got in one final hit against the brother before turning to leave.

Speculations abound, but the most common story is that the fight started after Sister Mirva called Baroness Katerine a whore and a harlot.

"Let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven."

The latest 10-year plan laid out by the House Decados for the town of Auberry apparently involves the construction of a massive cathedral at the heart of the planned Auberry New City District.

Some speculate that it is some sort of immense effort at penance by the Vice-Count or to slowly obliterate the last vestiges of Mortimer rule. Others argue that it is an effort to permanently give up ambitions against Malcolm's Crossing and bring the Bishopric to Auberry. There are complaints that the planned cathedral and surrounding district literally stabs into land that hold some sort of sentimental value to the Exodite community in Auberry, laid vacant after the Betrayal.

Word from the Lion Tower is that Renaud Germaine De Moley, 17th Count of Leon and sundry titles, has sent out survey crews across his realm. They seem to be working to plan a road system, branching off the pilgrims road to link the cities and towns of the Lion Coast together in a fast flowing, all-weather road system. Some say this will increase trade, while others say this will speed troop movements and make the lion more flexible in its postures and responses.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The shipyards of the coastal town of Jaffrey Hall have come alive, with Count Renaud De Moley seen walking the docks with Lord Peirce De Moley. To what purpose, this new activity? What sorts of ships to be built? Leon and its vassals are known for the second navy of the realm, behind Johburg... so if Leon is looking to put to sea in force, it could be a strong shift of power.

Word is on the streets that in the Spice Market yester-eve, the Count of Lions was speaking with Baroness Sepulture, Baroness Port-Leon and Baroness Avenal along with a knight of the Phoenix Throne when some sort of altercation broke out that drew their attention. While Baroness Avenal chose not to get involved (Perhaps the altercation involved walking south, as opposed to north?), the others charged to the rescue of Sir Thomas Reginald King of the Hawkwood, who had been attacked by strange men in black coats.

A peasant stampede broke out, something about a Hazat with a rifle and a Lion Count throwing men out of his way.

As dawn broke over the Pearl Cities and the Sea of Jaffee, the Mortimer Navy had dispersed into a broad search pattern, beating south-west towards the mouth of the Shining Gulf. Sources inside Gilead report searchlights and artillery fire in the night, including a shell that struck somewhere in the City and the sudden explosion of one of the harbor's searchlights.

There are also reports that a man-high letter Z was carved in the Gilead Port Authority building, apparently with a laser.

Auberry Commits? Sort of... Jan 05 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Word from the Villa Maleband in Auberry is leaking out that Vice-Count Lyov has convened with his baronets and representatives from the Auberry townships and finalized an initial commitment for Baron Remle and Marshal Cassius' meatgrinder in Revelation. The meeting is said to have gone well into the twilight hours.

The exact number is held in secret and will be presented to Baron Remle but it is leaking out that at one point, over five hundred men have been discussed, while some have indicated a vastly modest number in the low hundreds as being more likely.

Whatever is the initial commitment, a rather unusually large sum of Reeves were also assembled and there is no doubt that there will be bodies for the slaughter. The Vice-Count and his baronets, however, were in consensus that there will be no orphans of Revelation in Auberry this war season.

More troubling a pair of young crusading knights, a Hawkwood and a Hazat, were rushed to the Amalthean Hospice, having been said to have only just returned from a long patrol through the deserts, and engaged one another in a drinking contest at the festivities hosted by the Sign of the Donkey. The prognosis of the Hazat Knight seems grim, though he is expected to survive the night. Infact, it seems most, if not all afflicted attended the party.

Talon Returns Jan 06 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Peerless Talon, the privateer gun-barque of Sir Zakaria Haidar al-Malik, returned to Akko harbor after over a week at sea. And she was not alone. In her wake, and flying the White Hawk's banner over that of House Mortimer - in a traditional show that the ship is a prize - was a sleek yacht, apparently captured out of the very harbor of Gilead, in the Pearl Cities.

Sailors, heading to Corsair's Alley to celebrate after their cruise, told of how Brother Miles of the Brother Battle shot out a spotlight on the harbor from far out at sea, how Baron Hassan used his laser rifle to carve a Z - in honor of Sir Zakaria - in the Port Authority building in Gilead, and about how Hassan and Baroness Chiaka most ably worked the small yacht's deck guns, sinking a Mortimer gunboat and damaging a larger sloop. Baroness Chiaka even shelled Gilead itself!

Considering the battle aboard the yacht and the all-out run from the Gilead Navy and back to Akko, it is certain that all members of the crew will have tale to tell. Rumors even circulate that they captured a high-value hostage during the raid, though nobody quite knew who the young woman was, other than that she and her companions appeared to be noblewomen.

After another drink, he further commented, "And who signs letters as 'Tyrant'. Seriously. I don't call myself 'Dread Pirate Zakaria'...."

Trouble In The Peerless Talon Jan 09 2013 Anonymous

It is said by the common folk that the ship moored near the docks, the Peerless Talon, was attacked by a mysterious assailant earlier in the night. Smoke is said to have come out of the vessel, twice, and gunshots were heard from a distance, as well as the clash of swords. More damning, however, is the rumored witchcraft that took place in the incident and how the Captain Zakaria fell victim to the spell of a warlock for a short time. Little is known about the assailant, at present, only that he might have been hired by the Traitor to rescue his daughter or to kill the dreaded pirate. Others state that the motives were more selfish than that.

Something in the Dark Jan 10 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Somethings out there."

There's been whispers amongst a particular caravan crew around the star port in recent days that's left more than a couple Scravers on edge.

The ship in particular, named the Blue Reign, led by a Charioteer named Captain Felix Jones, was heard to of been hired out by a group of Scravers combing moons and planets of the local star system. And results were little of note until the ship came in the past two days, with the normally jovial and boisterous crew returning a drastically silent and some have said, terrified.

No one really knows what the crew out in the depths in space saw, but according to one of the barmen at the Baroness down in the Arcade, one of the Scraver crewmen mentioned the words 'flying Dutchman' and 'leviathan'.

"I...whatever it was, we hadn't ever seen anything like it. It was massive. Out there...just...adrift in the asteroid belt. Don't know how nobody had noticed. One day it wasn't there, the next...just floatin' there like it had always been." he had said between his cups.

"But. Somethings -wrong- with...don't want to call it a ship, y'know? We were gonna dock with it, but the moment we got close...no, -no- I ain't talkin 'bout nomore. Ain't goin back, all the firebirds in tha world could make me go back. It's cursed, I'm tellin ya. Some things...they ain't meant ta be found."

The man said no more, scurrying out of the bar as if he some unseen terror had come over him. The barman, perhaps a bit unnerved, was slightly annoyed it lowered his tabs for the rest of the night. But one thing is clear; there's something out there in the asteroid belt. Something no one wants to go near.

However, Sergeant John Solomon of the Muster thinks differently. Word is, he's been speaking to Captain Jones, who still holds the claim rights to that particular area of the belt. And the Captain sought out the Muster, heard to be old friends, looking for someone brave enough to find exactly what's out there. Sergeant Solomon is willing to take the risk, the question, who else might be?

OOC: Looking for about four or five(maybe six if I'm feeling frisky) more people to get in on this TP if anyone is interested in getting involved. Non-combat alts more than happy to come along. An Engineer or a Scraver would be welcomed but not needed. This will be more psychological than combat, but combat is certainly possible. Drop me a line if interested.

Did you hear that crazy preacher in the Market today? He strolls into the place, pretty as you please, and nearly causes Muzarin the Bookseller to die of fright, then hops up on someone's crate and starts preaching. He was talking about doom and barbarians and something really bad coming. But the things he said about the Hawkwoods and Hazat! Scandalous! It's a wonder no one has his head on a pike! And what he said about all the other nobles! The worst of it, though, was what he said about the Church. Where's an Avestite when you need one? I didn't understand a lot of it, but it smelled like heresy to me. I wonder if he'll be back to preach again.

Patrons heading to the Sign of the Donkey tonight have been treated to an extra-special welcome, which comes in the form of a liberal coating of foul-smelling muck hastily splashed against one exterior wall and completely swamping the front entry. Word spreads through servant and guard conversation that a Kurgan merchant paid a visit to the Fustian House, seeking a certain Naima bint Justinian. He met with both the Amalthean and Hugh, and was even offered hospitality by Remle himself. With the tensions in the city, one wonders why the Captain-General would even meet with one of the heathen horde unless there was lopping off of heads involved, much less offering hospitality! And in other news from the Camps, in the darkest hours of pre-dawn today, a scuffle broke out just outside the Flesh Market of Camp Beth when a patrolling group of Muster were pelted from rooftops and around the corners with dried dung, rocks, sticks and broken bottles. The assailants planned the ambush well - with projectiles coming from all directions in the dark, the small patrol could not do much to defend or pursue. Three of the five men were seriously injured by bits of broken glass and hard debris while the other two tried to catch any of the unknown number of attackers, to no avail. No clue to the identity of the ambushers has yet been determined, although one of the fellows cold-cocked with a fist-sized stone claims to have heard someone chanting what he swears sounded like 'Marsh, marsh, marsh'.

Another flare up Jan 11 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Word from around the Camps is that a small group of cloaked-and-hooded people just attempted to set fire to a straw-man dressed in a purloined Muster uniform outside the gates of Camp Aleph. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately!), pee isn't as flammable as they thought and so the stuffy's clothing was too damp to really ignite. No actual damage was done except to the urine-soaked uniform. The vandals scattered quickly, but one of the fleers lost his cap in his haste.

And on the flip side... Jan 11 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While much of Akko rebels against the Muster, rumor has it that the ten-man unit in service to Baroness Sepulchre is enjoying quite the comfortable relationship with their employer. They take shifts among her bodyguards, are invited to meals with the household, and her servants even whisper that she's been trying to teach one of them to dance. Not to mention the times when she takes counsel with Sergeant Solomon late into the night.

Of course, rumor also has it that at least one of the unit is a freed slave himself, and that their contract forbids slaving while in her service.

Pirate Surprise Jan 11 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rumours are filtering up from south of Cape Hattusas that an opportunistic band of Kurgan raiders received a severely bloody nose during a raid on a recently re-established fishing village. It seems that the captain of the gunboat that unloaded the forty-man band of freebooters was unaware that a military encampment had recently been constructed near the village, and instead of the village's signal beacon summoning aid in several hours from the closest manor, the lightly armed ship found itself in less than fifteen minutes the target of hull-down plunging tank fire while heavily armoured troopers in plum and grey cleared the loot-focused freebooters out house to house with no quarter given. The vessel was last seen steaming south towards Tyche, streaming smoke.

Hazat Insanity Jan 12 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As if confirmation was ever needed, further proof of Hazat being insane has emerged.

The notorious Don Rosario visited Joyeux House only to meet the scandalous Baroness Momoko who for a change was wearing full armour and training her troops. Talk of the tournament immediately lead to the two nobles setting upon each other with longswords until the baroness was savagely wounded and invited everyone present to enjoy her hospitality.

Why did they even fight? They had never met before and there were not any raised voices while the baroness refused to yield until she had taken wounds serious enough most would have died from them let alone been interested in spending the night drinking.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No, Courts were not given out for free. Sort of. Conspicuously absent from Lord Caelwyn's tournament was Vice-Count Lyov Feodrovich Kurakin Decados of Auberry and Maleband. He is said to have scoffed at the idea of holding the spectacle of a tournament so soon to war season. Instead, he is said to have held unofficial court and waived all court fees for Akko's Old Merchants and anyone domiciled in Auberry and Maleband wishing for a petition or claim to be heard for the day. Usually fanciful judgments such as 'Splitting the Calf' were notably absent, although there was apparently a commotion over a different kind of baby - two brothers fighting over the inheritance of a Radir Longshot sniper rifle.

No One Expects... Jan 14 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was controversy north of Akko following the tournament hosted by Lord General Caelwyn Li Halan, as the tournament champion, the so-called Pale Knight, was believed to have moved at a greater speed, and with more strength, than any mere human could. Cries of witchcraft lead to the summoning of Father Abbot Agravain van Gelder of the Holy Inquisition, who arrived with two Avesti Pilgrims and a Sword of Lextius.

Rumor has it that Baroness Avenal and some other nobles stood for the unknown Knight against the Inquisition. But in the end, the Inquisitor would not relent in his duty, and the Pale Knight was arrested, though he was, as a favor at the request of Dame Linnea Torenson, allowed to spend a single hour at the celebration of his victory, under the close watch of the aforementioned Avesti and Sword of Lextius. Dame Linnea and Sister Naima of the Sanctuary Aeon both pledged themselves as surety that the Knight would be delivered to the Cathedral for questioning at the end of the allotted time.

Certainly, these might be the last delicacies the Pale Knight has the chance to enjoy, if he is found to be a warlock and held to the tender mercies of the Inquisition.

Too sexy for my shirt... Jan 14 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After coming out in his tight white pants Hassan pulled back that bow and tightened his muscles...

For many women both common and uncommon it was love at first night. (6VP on charm) Afterwards many high born ladies were inquiring of his sore losing Aunt about the devastatingly handsome Baron of Helborg. Paying her compliments and trying to schmooze their way into his good graces. The commom women squealed in glee and dreamily imagined! And there were a lot of blushing faces to be had. It was like the Pancreator himself came down in that moment and showcase those dimpled buttermilk biscuits. So fresh from the oven and ripe into adulthood; served on a platter of white and gold tailor made to the visual senses.

Fresh from his pirate adventures and after winning the archery contest the Baron of Helborg seems to found his way into a limited release calendar. A few scraps broke out as the women (and a few men) rushed to seize these limited edition prizes! This of course amidst the callous stares of husbands, suitors, and fathers while they clawed and fought their way to get at them!

The calendars have Hassan with a variety of poses firing bows, lounging in a field of flowers, and even a reenactment pose of him swinging over the rails of the Kurgan yacht shirtless into the masses of fearful Kurgans that await on the other side. Boy is he all sorts of chiseled fine!

The Anonymous Knight! Jan 14 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Showing up at the tournament the Anonymous Knight came all by his lonesome.

Without the help of a squire and using weapons and armor that were far too substandard he bore the banners of the refugee camps as his cause. With a fervor and calm poise he managed his way to do his honorable cause justice. This knight showed amazing skill upon the field in his victory in the light weapons tournament.

In perhaps one of the most heated moments of the day the knight squared off against Don Rosario in an epic battle upon horseback. It was a battle of passion against calm collected reserve. The crowd was captivated as each masterful pass until in the end the Anonymous Knight unhorsed the Don from his saddle in a magnificent display of horsemanship and control. The entire match is highly regarded as one of the greatest matches in recent tournament history and it will go down in legend.

It is said that after the tournament the Anonymous Knight went to each camp in turn. That he smelted the golden wreath and used it to purchase bread and sustenance for the people he came to serve..

Now that's a knight..

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that, for whatever reasons, the Brother Battle seem to be turtling up. Patrols from the monasteries are reduced slightly to a safe and reasonable operational minimum. Brothers on 'special assignments' are being called back in from the field for meetings and the monasteries in general seem to be adopting a more defensive posture. The rumors are that the Brothers are committing armsmen and auxilaries to the Crusade and campaign season, but that the actual Brothers themselves, some of the most elite fighters in the galaxy by some people's estimations, are waiting for something. Do they know something others don't? Are they anticipating heavy Kurgan invasion or something else? Who knows, but they are also diverting extra forces to the Old City in Akko, beginning to crack down with increased patrols and a much higher and more visible presence....

It's no rumor that the Musters sell slaves, though juicy gossip has spread that they had a slave who's beauty is far beyond what one would normally see, and not a shocker he was sold before he could get over his space Lag.

Baroness of Josselin Katerine De Moley purchased this slave, this is, of course, after his display at the Pilgrims' space dock where he drew a crowed, and after an exhibition with a Muster, which this slave won. Some say his looks are near unnatural, but those might just be exaggerations... right?

So apparently Katerine De Moley has a new slave, who is a Duelist with flawless beauty. What could our Baroness be up to? And is this slave all he is hyped up to be?

Not only has Baroness Lysandra Justinian been making nice with her Muster, but it seems she's been going out of her way to curry favor in other places as well. Upon her defeat of the Anonymous Knight in the tournament, she promised to fight on in the name of the Exodites he represented...even if she lost in the next round. And the next day, she was seen among the camps herself, speaking with the refugees. Rumor has it she's offered Sir Cephus a place to set up his new knightly order in Claudius' Tomb, and even suggested the families of those joining the order would be welcome to settle there as well.

Even more interesting, when the 50 men promised by the baroness for the push to Revelation arrived at the muster, they were for the most part a cheerful and boisterous group. Apparently, the majority are volunteers, offered additional hazard pay for their service with a promise of additional death benefits for their families if they should fall.

Is this what happens when a Justinian takes over from the Decados?

No matter who struck the first blow, it seems that the violence between the Muster and the as-yet unknown renegades has escalated further still. In what some are calling a retaliatory strike and others say is just 'par for the course', a trio of roughly-dressed men armed with rifles made an aggressive and ultimately unsuccessful move against a Muster "slave pen" in Camp Beth this afternoon. All three of the unidentified attackers were killed in the return maneuver, but not before an equal number of guards and two recently purchased slaves lay dead in the yard. The current rumble in the camps is that the Muster themselves are responsible for the deaths of the slaves, either by intent or accident.

Akko's population have been entertained, troops have been trained, knightly prowess displayed, and heroism avowed. The champions of the various events have won glory, and the skills of even the defeated admired by all, although Sir Rosario is rumoured to have had some sort of prior history with the eventual champion of the Joust, the anonymous Knight of the Refugees.
The host, Lord-General Caelwyn Xiu-Feng of the Li Halan, appears to have been well pleased with the results of the tournament, and much of the conversation around the Old Terminal this week as well as in the sinks of Akko has been on the performances and sights that were seen there - from weapons criticism to determination that the next Tourney will see them entered.

Champion of the Joust: the Knight of the Refugees
Champion of the Foot Sword: the Pale Knight
Champion of the Lesser Blades: the Knight of the Refugees
Champion of the Hand to Hand: Captain Quinn of the Muster
Champion of Marksmanship: Lady Katerine de Moley
Champion of the Archery: Baron Hassan of Helborg

Rainbows and Ponies in Auberry? Jan 21 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Vice-Count Auberry met with Baron Remle at the Palais Maleband the other day, a curious event occurred in Auberry. The loudspeakers went offline for a few hours and when they came back on, many (but not all) instances of anti-Exodite rhetoric seems to have been taken down. The push towards Revelation is still called the 'Exodite War' but instances of even that term is down almost 70 percent by some counts despite murmurs that it is all mere coincidence or reserving valuable air time for a very important announcement.

It remains to be seen whether or not any of this translates to better practical conditions for Exodites in Auberry. Unlike his father, an alleged friend of the Exodites, the Vice-Count has long supported the Old Merchants and have systematically reversed policies and important appointments made by his father.

The great Jailbreak.. Jan 21 2013 Anonymous

Murmurs on the street suggest a certain Imperial Cohort, Captain Paulo of the Charioteers guild has been inquiring into experts on Kurgan culture, local area knowledge, and more importantly infiltration and breaking and entering specialists, as well as possibly a few trained combatants. It's said he's been frequenting the Auberge as of lately, and anyone wishing to make contact could likely find the man there.

Buried in the Tax Code Jan 21 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There has been a rash of Old Merchant legal filings against Exodite competitors in the various courts of Auberry, overwhelming the small claims courts and the motions docket. Apparently some obscure line in the Greater Maleband Tax Code of 5000, Rev. 16, promulgated February 5001 permits 'Persons historically domiciled in Auberry or the West Bank of the Shining Coast and others 3/4 blood quantum thereof' to substantially bypass the expensive costs of litigating in Auberry's courts every second and fourth Tuesday.

The peculiarities of Auberry domicile renders the entire Exodite community in Auberry unable to take advantage of the provision and other similar provisions relating to contract law, property recordation, tariffs, and clerk appointment priority throughout the County.

Rumor is a certain Decados noblewoman was seen escorted home on the arm of a particularly handsome and rugged Justinian Marquis. Some say she was genuinely laughing and smiling in his company and there might be love in the air! Others found it to be unsettling and a bit unnerving. Decados are never genuine.

Empty Nest? Jan 22 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Early in the evening, a small cadre of Amaltheans arrived at Sepulchre House...along with a young girl in her teens. Fair and waif-like, the girl was hustled inside and out of sight before anyone could get much of a look at her. Rumor has it, though, that the baroness has had the house scrubbed from top to bottom in the last few days, with visits from decorators and doctors alike. And more, that she's been making inquiries about discreet tutors.

Perhaps she's compensating for the loss of her son? She certainly isn't old enough to have a teenage daughter of her own...

A few mechanics on the tarmac are heard gossiping about some very loud conversations aboard the Maggie May. It seems like the Charioteer Captain has been keeping residence on the ship since her return from treasure hunting and was reported that Scraver Boss Javan DiCaprio paid the Captain a visit this evening. Things did not end up pretty. Not only did they hear Javan scold Simone, but he grounded her too?! Who can really say what was really said with all that shouting, though what's a pilot to do without a ship? It's been said Javan is like a father-figure to Simone and Gabriel, but can 'daddy' really take the 'T-bird' away?

Do Not Call Him The Witch-Count Jan 24 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...even if he seems to have the devil's own luck. The heir to the County of Hydessos used the often-repeated epithet in Don Antonio's presence, and the don in turn drew on him to fight right then, threatening to throw him off a cliff. Zakaria raised his blade to defend, and they fought for the better part of an hour; towards the end, it was as if Zakaria's shield was not even activating, so swift and sure were Joyeaux's blows. Indeed, some present might suggest a shield damper were at work, though none present would suggest - at least to Antonio's face - that it was some psychic power.

Broken Wing Jan 24 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sir Zakaria Haidar al-Malik has returned to his ship, the Peerless Talon, in Akko Harbor, doubtless to lick his wounds after his grueling duel with the Count of Outrejoyeux. He was seen by the Amalthean Sister Naima bint Justinian, and word in the Corsair's Alley is that the privateer will live to fight again, despite grevious injuries. Longboats brought a substantial quantity of liquor aboard from shore, along with a Crafter of the Engineer's Guild.

While the Supreme Order is notoriously secretive, sailors are notably less so. Word has it that Captain Zakaria had his shield core examined for malfunction after the duel, and it was found to still have charge and be in perfect working order.

White Hawk Strikes Jan 26 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Merely days after his duel with Count Antonio of Outrejoyeaux, a recovered Captain Sir Zakaria al-Malik was apparently willing to let bygones be bygones, sailing in a convoy with Dame Sofia Estefania Benignamin de Aragon, one of Don Antonio's vassals. Word has it that they encountered a Kurgan raiding force along the gulf, and when the Peerless Talon, Sir Zakaria's famed gun barque arrived home, it was with a Kurgan ship of the same size in tow, captured as a prize.

Sailors speak of a fearsome naval battle involving both ships and a larger Kurgan force, and claim that Sir Zakaria sank a Kurgan ketch and captured the barque in a boarding action, then saw off an advanced Kurgan fighter, damaging it with surface-to-air fire.

The Iron Maiden, Dame Sofia's ship, did not arrive in Akko Harbor at the same time as the Peerless Talon, though she was not reported as lost either.

The Iron Maiden Returns Jan 26 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Iron Maiden, it seems, returned from its sea battle with a Kurgan gun barque in tow. Or rather, the other way around. The captured ship is in decent condition, but the Iron Maiden was in sad shape, limping along behind. Many of the crew, including Dame Sofia herself (minus one hand) and Don Sans (minus what looked like most of his blood supply), looked almost as bad as the ship when they were unloaded. Baroness Lysandra, on the other hand, made it off under her own power, with only a lightly bandaged shoulder wound.

Of course, sailors will talk. At least uninjured ones. With several rounds of drinks provided by the baroness, the survivors of the battle speak with awe of how Dame Sofia was gravely injured driving the Iron Maiden into the enemy ship, and Don Sans fought through wounds that would have killed a lesser man, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat. Even as terms of surrender were being negotiated, the Hazat knight fought through terrible wounds to behead the Kurgan captain before collapsing himself, and Lysandra rallied the bloodied sailors and troops to victory.

When the bodies are identified, there are awed whispers that the Kurgan Captain was a storied scourge of the sea with an enchanted blade that never failed to find flesh. No one's sure who claimed /that/, though.

Rumors abound after Sir Knight Vasiliy Eisenstein was seen meeting with Baroness Lysandra Decados. Doesn't seem it was much of a secret meeting though as the Barness's servants confirm that Knight has pledged to support the Baroness with his blade and mind in the coming War Season. Though what is strange is the Knight is known to often hate Decados! Why would he pledge to support one?

Clogged Pipes in the Machine Jan 27 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the Gardens of the Palais Maleband, part of the Vice-Count's accelerating efforts to reclaim some of the older ruins of the Palais Maleband complex in the Old City, a system of old waterworks had been repaired and a small gathering of lords, ladies, courtiers, and Old Merchants had assembled for the grand inauguration. The centerpiece is said to be a large fountain statue imported from Severus of a wild hippocamp being tamed by what can be best described as an 'anatomically accurate' statue consisting of Count Feodor's head and Vice-Count Lyov's body.

The garden party, an informal affair considering the impending war season, was largely successful, except that the centerpiece sculpture's fountain jets were not working. Built up water pressure erupted in a blast of water that threw the large Vice-Count almost two meters and nearly knocked him unconscious.

Officially, it was a clog in the pipework that got dislodged from the water pressure, but there are rumors surfacing that house engineers are flummoxed by the impossibility that the clog alone could have caused the initial fountain failure, or its remarkable accuracy in hitting only the Vice-Count in the face and none of his other nearby assembled guests were even sprinkled with any water.

A middle-aged cleaning menial known by the unlikely cognomen of 'Rikk Thonius' has gone missing recently, not having been seen about his favoured Copper District watering hole for several days. Before he apparently left for parts unknown, he had a job at the Old Terminal, and a few days before was known to be relating the tale that he had heard shouting and raised voices of a man and woman coming from the study of Dame Linnea Torenson, the seneschal of Lord-General Caelwyn Li Halan, and that when he went in to dust the floor later that day, he had to clean up the shattered remains of a chair which had apparently been smashed somehow against the floor.

Like so many others, Lord-General Caelwyn of the Li Halan has been seen in a lot of meetings and discussions with other Crusader Captains both in Akko and the outlying regions, and also in the headquarters of the Imperial Legion currently beleagured in the City of Revelation. Anyone might think there was a war going on. However, the messenger traffic in and out of the Old Terminal has been increasing dramatically, and the mustering of troops and maintenance of heavy vehicles has sped up considerably with fresh shipments of men and material from the Antipodes.

Rumours are filtering back that a recent gain of a few hundred meters in the ongoing back and forth struggle of Revelation has discovered something that caused a set of Li Halan soldiers and command staff and clerics to pass across the dangers of the Gulf of Akko by ship to examine it. Exactly what this was, has not yet filtered through the rumour mill, and thus everything from a secret Antinomist Li Halan torture dungeon to a golden statue of Zebulon to an amusement arcade filled with sathraist board games is being mooted. Nor is it clear why the Li Halan were notified, nor so interested.

As it happens, as time moves forward, war approaches and the various counties and baronies begin to gather their forces. Someone is getting an early jump on the draw, moving across the plains towards the capital of Joyeaux. There she has taken up a guest room with her uncle and her troops are stationed in a camp outside the city. They are well behaved for a group of crusaders and soldiers, but given thier commander they likely get beat for being idiots.

Frontiersmen only had one thing to say about their travel, it was disruptive. They are a loud bunch, marching the long way and yelling songs and mottos. Looking into revealed that apparently the Baroness Haqq has set her motto thus: "What do we do about obstacles?" "What're Obstacles?"

Auberry: Crash Landing? Jan 30 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are ugly rumors from the tight-lipped Court of Auberry that the Vice-Count's flitter was en route to Cripple Keep when it overshot into Kurgan airspace... and was shot down by Kurgans, making a crash landing near the river of Joy between Alexis and Falconet. Crash landing may be an euphemism. There are unsubstantiated rumors that a friend's cousin of one of the Paladin pilots in the Auberrite Airforce escorting the flitter saw the whole flitter pretty much disintegrated mid-air and that is why the Auberry Airfore is still on standby instead of battling Kurgans in an effort to rescue the Vice-Count.

Unclear is whether it was an anti-air rocket or sabotage from within. Or whether or not the Vice-Count was even in the ill-fated flitter. Anti-aircraft batteries are hampering efforts at launching a rescue attempt, if there is anything to even bother rescuing.

Rumors originate in the Lion Tower that one of the Battle Brother Acolyte's was sparring the Dueling Slave Kaedin in the Salle. Some say it might have been something of a recruiting pitch with the the slave quickly nearly defeating the Battle Brother handily in a three point match. Two points almost immediately and then the duo began dueling back and forth the practice mats before the Battle Brother finally trapped the slave's blade, undoubtedly utilizing the Brother Battle's famed Mantok style for the final touch. The two seemed speak for a time afterwards but still the rumors fly. Was the Brother Battle forced to cheat to defeat the dueling slave, or was he simply toying with the slave the entire time? Next time on, How the Slave Spars.
