Return of the Vice-Count? Feb 01 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For a Vice-Count obsessed with advanced flight manifests through his father's County, it would seem that Lyov improperly filed his own manifests and never stepped onto that ill-fated flitter towards Cripple Keep. By miracle of the Pancreator or by serendipity, it is rumored that the Vice-Count had been tending to his vegetable garden in the Miracle of Maleband and arrived at the still-unfinished Obsidian Omen in Auberry to tend to his father at the end of the day, none the wiser.

Of course, considering wagging tongues in Auberry, some question if it was actually the Vice-Count or one of his lookalikes hired by the Decados. What the ill-fated flitter was doing that far north is anyone's guess, but it has been noted that the Vice-Count has been liberally plying the Muster at Cripple Keep with whores and cases of wine. Anti-aircraft rounds continue to flash throughout the night.

Bear Dueling Feb 01 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A red-headed woman wearing dark-purple glasses, who is said to wear a Hawkwood symbol, is said to have been the origin of a recent rumor going around. A group of nobles on a hunting trip valiantly tossed their guns away when women were in danger, then pulled out their rapiers and challenged four massive polar bears to a duel. The woman stresses that they asserted their noble superiority, and conquered the beasts with good ol' fashioned propriety and rapiers. The noblewomen present were also said to have shown an equal level of discipline when they were surprise attacked, and they all escaped unscathed, saving their beloved servants from certain death!

Who are these mysterious nobles? Is this completely made up or incredibly exaggerated tripe? And who is the red-headed Hawkwood woman who started them? Where are the polar bear bodies?! Who knows. Perhaps this is simply a patriotic story of noble houses working together, as the nobles were said to mostly be from completely different houses.

Perhaps the moral is that propriety unites us all, despite the utter unbelievability and likely embellishments on the story.

Hugh's contracted flitter has been seeing making the journey to Port Saint Claude more often than check-ups for his new cyber-eye would require. His closest officers have also made trips there, sometimes with him or alone; there are also rumours that shipments of ammunition, food and other supplies are being sent regularly over the gulf to Port Saint Claude, perhaps an indication of future activity there during the oncoming war season.

Combat Exercises Feb 01 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Large combat exercises have been taking place in the environs of Akko, as the Captain-General has been taking Akko's forces through not only maneuvering, but also combat exercises. Farmers have complained of trampled fields and the gentry of the noise of gunfire in the countryside. To what purpose this extensive mobilisation is being carried out remains unclear, though the stated reason is still the preparation of troops for Revelation.

A Hazat's Recovery Feb 01 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It appears that Don Sans has been slowly recovering from his wounds -- though the entire process was sped up by Sister Naima and the Amalthean Order's care. Rumors surface about his fight with the alleged Kurgan sorcerer-Captain, mostly filtered through by his men when they recount the tale when they crowd the bars and whorehouses that crusaders are known to frequent.

It is said the Hazat's forces were largely defeated and he found himself with several guns pointed at him at the bow of the ship. Already mortally wounded, the Aragonese baronet managed to furiously cut his way through the ranks of the Kurgan sailors rather than face capture, in what some allege was a death charge. Despite being further rattled by gunshots, his energy shield long depleted, he ignored his wounds as he got to the Captain, who barely had any time to react before his head was lopped off.

An Arrival from Byzantium II Feb 02 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is reported that a tall and beautiful blond woman and a young flaxen-haired girl arrived on Yathrib and was quickly whisked away out to Auberry by the Vice-Count's personal guard rather than his usual contingent of Kossacks. It was an odd assortment, the woman bearing purple and blue regalia of the House Hawkwood loaded with gold and sapphires fitting for a Countess, the little girl holding her hand and clutching a stuffed turtle doll dressed in black and green and pearls.

But instead of offloading their personal effects, it is said that the Vice-Count has asked for his personal items from Akko, including his chainsabre and personal files to be packed. For now, it is said that he has sequestered himself and his guests at the Villa Maleband in Auberry. One can swear an impish little girl peeking out the doors to the inner chambers from time to time, eyes reflective of an intelligence far beyond her years.

Brawl in the Auberge Feb 02 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was a brawl in the Auberge late last night. Some say that it was started when a muster captain assaulted a Sword of Lextius over some insult. Others say that it started as the result of accusations of cheating around a poker table. Still others claim that it was a fight over the favor of a Decados lady.

What is undisputed is that a gaggle of young noblemen (and a few women) found themselves in a brawl in the parlor of the Auberge during the after-dinner hours. The respectable establishment is not typically a sight for such antics, though in the later evening it does host more than its share of young men seeking to impress young women and it was perhaps thanks to this younger, more hot-tempered clientele that the brawl was possible. When the dust cleared and the fight moved out into the street a few note worthy faces were picked out of the crowd- A muster captain of one of the many muster companies headed to Revelation, an al-Malik knight sworn to one of the Childerics, and a few Swords of Lextius (all Hawkwood, if the rumors are true). The Baron of Margat was also present, bleeding from a cut on his lip, as was a strangely dressed Charioteer.

A Free man Feb 02 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kaedin Darazin, now former slave of Katerine De Moley, has been freed; that's the buzz around the Lion Tower. Speculation as to why though, is still up for debate, including the following:

The De Moley Family has pushed the woman to the brink so that she had no other choice but to release him from servitude...

The Church threatened to excominucate her for having a slave...

Kaedin is actualy the bastard child of an al Malik nobleman who paid Katerine to release him....

Baroness Josselin plans to knight the duelist and court him...

He won his freedom at the end of a blade...

All thease stories go into circulation, and amongst the gossip savvy, this has become quite a debate, though the common consensus is that Katerine's duelist isn't a slave anymore, but now serves as her Armsman and Champion.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the Mount of Apples, in the formal garden, the newly Freed Slave Kaedin looked like he was about to draw blood with how people were lecturing him. Apparently, he doesn't take to being lectured very well, and when he finaly retorted, Brother Moroko started to laugh, and not just a small laugh, a big laugh. Apparently, anyone who placed a bet on Kaedin being able to make the battle brother laugh, just won that bet, at least, that's what the news around town is.

Trouble on the front Feb 05 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rumors filter back to Akko from Claudius' Tomb that on Friday evening there were some light clashes in the region of the village of Tekhelet. Apparently, Acolyte Moroko of the Brother Battle has been coordinating patrols in the region, and had invited a small group from Akko to inspect the troops. This group included the Count of Oultrejoyeaux (Antonio), Baroness of Haqq (Momoko), Baroness of Claudius' Tomb (Lysandra), Lady Olivia of the Decados.

The group apparently encountered a pair of Kurgan scouts, one of whom was shot by the Count, and another was captured by a group effort finally being captured and pinned by Lady Olivia. Who then with the help of Baroness Lysandra questioned their captive for the Kurgan base. Also, something about shoes. At some point in the struggle it appears a Brother Tyrone of the Eskatonics arrived and joined the frey, the veteran of the Symbiot War showing no small amount of martial talent for his age.

The intrepid adventurers then lead a raid on the Kurgan bandit's camp where another half dozen Kurgans were killed, and their leader was captured once again by Lady Olivia who rumors say has begun a collection of her Kurgan trophies. Meanwhile it's said that the camp was said to have a number of missives and intelligence describing more Kurgan activity in the area near the village of Tekhelet.

Akko Marches Feb 05 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The banners of Akko are marching. Supply shipments and support elements have been filtering out of the city for weeks, but now the main force, over a thousand strong, is on the move. Greeted by cheering crowds, the army, led by the Captain-General himself, trooped through the city, bearing the jumpcross flag of the Crusade. However, by all indications these troops don't seem to be heading directly for Revelation, as increased ship traffic North in the Gulf as well as soldiers' gossip indicate that a more likely destination lies further north in the Oultrejoyeaux.

Meanwhile, troops ships and convoys bound for Revelation have been crossing the Gulf with increasing frequency, slowly building up the Crusader State's contingent in the Holy City.

Unlikely Raiders? Feb 09 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amidst the large troops moving towards the border baronies a smaller contingent has begun an advance towards Alivere. While no one is quite certain what their purpose is, what's clear is that a number of raider troops have been gathered under the Brother Battle pennant the acting Subprior Acolyte Moroko. The Subprior and his 'staff' ranging from Muster specialists, to Amalthean Healers, Charioteer Captains, and even an Eskatonic Brother can be seen going back and forth between the 'headquarters' at Claudius' Tomb and the raiders in the field. Is taking such a small unit into the field bold decision making, or just a few fools following a zealot on their way to getting steamrolled by larger armies? Only time will tell!

As his proclamation was being issued, Sir William Gaheris and a body of his Swords of Lextius are said to have been seen ascending the West Tower of Saint Godfrey's Keep. A short time later, a woman in Van Gelder military uniform exited the Chancery, though she rather unconventionally did so via an unopened window - and had a drawn sword in her hand. Disappearing Relics Feb 11 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The allegedly heretical shrine in the Church of Saint Jackson, so recently a source of conflict between zealous Crusaders and hard-lined Brother Battle, is rumored to have mysteriously disappeared overnight. The Inquisition had formally requested the destruction of the Shrine, and Prior Hawkins of Port St. Claude had easily and readily promised to comply with the official Church request. This morning however, the relics are completely gone, vanished from the church.
Of course, the immediate suspicion is to blame the Brothers themselves, but no witnesses are able to be found saying they've seen ANY kind of movement or subterfuge out of the Brothers posted around the church. The Brothers themselves are claiming to not have any idea what happened to the relics of course. And the only information that can be discovered at this early stage is that there was some kind of irregularity or mistake in the guard rotation schedule which created a brief window of a half hour or so in which a back entrance of the church was left unguarded. Mistakes happen.

A flitter from the front came in this morning, and a number of Brothers from Monastaries around Akko have filtered their way into the Old City through various methods, apparently reporting to Akko's Monastary for duty. Rumors abound as to what this means exactly - whether the Brothers are expecting trouble in the Old City, or what this means for the war front if the Brothers are taking some men away from it. But at this point the only thing that's known is that there's an increased presence in the area.

Ghilat Feb 11 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While the information getting in and out of Ghilat is relatively small due to the siege, some information trickle still exists and this makes it rife for rumors. Going around are several rumors about the battle of Ghilat and the current siege as well as the nobles and armies associated with it. While none of them can be confirmed for obvious reasons, it doesn't stop old women and idle men from talking about them and speculating, which of course makes them worse.

The one rumor that appears to be truth due to reports from elsewhere is that on the first day, when the kurgan horde reached the city, a force of Ghilat soldiers lead by Don Sans and Baroness Midare rode forward to face the enemy head on, Dame Sofia and several other commanders from various nobles were also involved. The rumor begins from there, but the one thing that is certain is that Baronesa Momoko did not take the field and only sparred a single company. Beyond that, rumors exist of a heated argument, of fights and of drawn blades, but it's hard to tell beyond that point where fact ends and rumor begins.

Another thing that is clear is that Conde Antonio is a Dervish and a leader of them. This has been confirmed by several other sources so is likely true. There were three captured during the battle, names are floating around but none can be known to be true or false or someone's imagination. Though, from here, more rumor abounds, about more arguments, slights, weapons and duels. Again, where truth ends and rumor begins at this point is unclear. Some accuse Baronesa Momoko of being a witch, others that Baroness Midare is a witch, and still yet there are rumors about a heated battle between the two, the rumor that Midare was being deposed by the ruling Hazat. Basically, it is impossible to tell what is true in Ghilat right now beyond the fact that they lost troops and are now sieged. Additionally, it is fairly clear that Baronesa Momoko is now residing entirely in the town of Ghilat and not the fortified castle. Again rumors swirl as to reasoning. So basically, have fun with this, because nobody knows what's going on.

Political Cartoon IV Feb 15 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The latest political cartoon, allegedly distributed by agents of the revolutionary Mercurian Guild, has appeard on the streets in response to the political turmoil of the last week. The quality of the handbills has seen a slight jump, the engravings a little more well defined, as the mysterious publishers refine their techniques or get a little technical assistance with their crank-press, although the samizdat copies and wall-scrawls remain execrably executed.

This offering has a caricature of Sir William bestriding the the Keep like a colossus, a sword in one hand, a coin purse in the other. He is supported by pyramids of the people of Akko, all wheezing as they struggle to hold him up, exhorted by gleeful robed offworld priests who are chinking moneybags in their palms, whips in the other.
Meanwhile, the figure of Chancellor Amber can be seen leaping from one of the towers to safety thanks to a silken parachute, onto a waiting bedsheet held up by robed Kurgans.
The Caption in curlicued script reads 'Out wiv the Old, In wiv the Same'.

Crusader Camp struck! Feb 16 2013 Anonymous

More news from the front, apparently one of the camps under command of Captain General Hugh was struck in the early morning of June 19th a daring band of Kurgan raiders struck deep into the camp killing a handful of sentries and setting ablaze a supply tent. However, it appears that before more mischief could be conducted it appears that a mix of troops and the Captain General Hugh, Knight Captain Cephus, and Sister Naima of the Amaltheans were able to put out the fire. Brother Tyrone of the Eskatonics was apparently at hand but lost his lunch to the proceedings. Meanwhile Muster Corporal Carmen was seen whistling on her way away from the mischief with a whistle on her lips, pockets full of loot, and some singed eyebrows.

Some rumors that despite the valiant efforts some of the supplies were poisoned, but the rumors are unconfirmed!

A Purge Feb 16 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the wake of Nasir al-Raimi's treachery in betraying his liege -- that cost the farms and lands outside of Ghilat Township to be burned, and the people lost to the invading Kurgan forces-- there began stirrings in Ghilat. First, soldiers and officers of the maiden baroness's personal guard were seen in the town, conducting questioning and intensive searches of numerous Kurgan businesses and homes.

One week of silence followed, and then it happened. An overnight raid cleared out almost every single Kurgan-owned business and home. The next morning, 21 Kurgan men and women swung from gibbets in the town square, presided over by the head of Nasir al-Raimi himself. The message from the young baroness was this--

“I trusted in one, though my spirit knew better. No more will I risk the lands for which my ancestors and people have died. The Kurgans are expelled from Ghilat. Their homes and businesses will be given to any faithful crusader who fights for the cause of freedom from the scourge of their presence.

21 traitors, found to have conspired with the enemy and who have borne in their hearts nothing but evil, have been hung. All the rest are returned to their people, to die with them or to flee from my sight. Nasir al-Raimi, see what you have wrought, and remember how, without mercy, your allies slew the gentle farmers out in the field, raped their daughters, and took their children for slaves. I am no more merciful than they.”
Likewise in Jopha, almost every single Kurgan has been turned out except the ones who could find ten men and women of the Known-worlders to vouch for them.

The flitter of Renaud of Leon left the battlefields near Zatan, making for Port Saint Claude with Suleiman Khan. Touching down there only briefly, Renaud met with with Lord Pierce De Moley, captain of the men Renaud had dispatched to PSC to stage as ready-reserves. The two men didn't' say much, reports indicate, but not for any disquiet between the men. Mostly, they just looked off the top of the fortress monastery while wounded were loaded into Renaud's flitter. The two men are said to have been very grim as they looked out over the burning city, though they did share a private guffaw at something not overheard. This done, Renaud and his air cover made for Leon.

The Latest Summer Trends Feb 17 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems the latest summer fashion trends have taken a turn towards the conservative. Whether it be fear of Sir William instituting some sort of modesty laws, the influx of Li Halan from the Isles along with General Caelwyn, or perhaps the fact Baroness Avenal has been wearing similar Li Halan inspired styles lately, or all of the above. But the fact is, that Li Halan style robes of elegant flowing silks that breathe are all the rage this season, even as War rages outside the vale and city.

Shitting on the Troops Feb 20 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hugh the Bastard has earned his suffix once again. On an order relayed and administered by Sister Naima but bearing his seal, he has requested all commanders of companies at Zatan to dig latrine trenches, burn waste, quarantine sick soldiers and keep soldiers or their mounts from fouling sources of water. What this equates to: more digging, and more specifically, shovelling shit. Instead of leaving this order to be happily ignored, groups of armed men from Akko and from Caelwyn's Li Halan troops have been tasked with making the rounds around the camps and correcting failures in sanitary discipline. While the cause - preventing disease - is desirable, the measures have hardly been popular, especially with many of the independent-minded crusader companies.

Poisoners in Zatan? Feb 20 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
r

Word spreads quick through the crusader camp outside of Zatan...

Early in the morning, a desert nomad with a pair of hounds accosted the quartermaster of the Army, spinning wild, unintelligible tales of poison in the morning ale. When Baroness Katerine De Moley, Sister Idonea of the Orthodoxy (not that you could tell..) and Zaed, mysterious butler to the 'Star Murderess' arrived on the scene with a pair of kurgan saboteurs in their custody, however, it was a different story.

A mad dash through camp was made on horseback, with some casks shot, some casks smashed and some casks ripped from thirsty crusaders hands. A hugh and cry went up - and there was very nearly a riot, until word came in that the men of Lord Arian the Stonecutter, a Crusader Lord of the Hawkwood, and many camp followers had fallen ill.

One cask of the poisoned brew made it into circulation and those who drank from it came sick. The clamps they call it, when being polite. A sickness where nothing stays in for longer than it takes to rocket through the body. Several days, the men of the Stonecutter will down, dampening their hopes for glory and pillage in Zatan.

Still, anger turns to gladness when crusaders walk past the Stone cutters camp and they smell the stench of what could have been.

A Wall of Sand Feb 21 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A vicious sandstorm has risen from the Great Desert, the likes of which no man living has seen before. The wall of wind and sand was spotted by House Decados guards posted as look-outs in Maleband, and according to eye-witnesses the sandstorm seemed to move as if guided by some unseen hand to avoid the new greenbelt caused by the terraforming engine in place there. But the ruins of Maleband has not been so lucky, with harsh winds and biting sand forcing the few peasants and settlers in the region to take shelter and pray for deliverance.

Miles wide, the wall of dust, dirt, and sand is blowing down the pass of arrows and will consume Avenal and likely much of Auberry in the coming few days. If previous weather patterns are any indication it ought to disperse at that point but old timers are quietly grumbling that there is in their words 'something not right' about this storm.

Johburg on Alert Feb 22 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whether it's a response to Sir William's attempted 'protection' of the Countess, comes as a result of the rumoured defenestration of a van Gelder woman from the Chancery, or is simply part of the on-going preparations for the extension of the active war fronts, the County of Johburg seems to have been moved to a state of high alert.

This includes the miniature fief of Fisher Hall itself – the guardians of the high-walled compound on the coast by Akko have clearly increased in numbers and now sport full battle armour rather than their customary uniforms. The outer gates now tend to stand closed, rather than being open to invite visitors to enjoy the hospitality of the Countess's Northern seat. And both its flitter pad and private harbour seem to have been seeing an unusual amount of activity, much of it involving military craft bearing Johburg colours.

Further South, the Countess's heir Nathalie has been seen in the city of Johburg itself, though she now seems to be perpetually accompanied by a significant body of guards throughout her public appearances.

The Decados are known for raising brows, but the recent chatter pertaining to a meeting held between Countess Amber of Johburg and Lady Baroness Olivia Decados has many people gasping in shock. It is no secret the former Viscount was not a fan of the Countess, nor of many whom Olivia has purposely sought out over the past few days and weeks.

Many gossip how they wish they could have been a fly on the wall during this particular encounter. Did the Countess and the Baroness get along? What did they discuss? Was there an epic cat fight that involved a lot of hair pulling and scratching?

The intimate details are not known but the Lady Baroness left Fisher Hall unscathed without any signs of struggle or battle and it is safe to assume the Countess also remains untouched and unaffected by the meeting. Could it really have been a good, peaceful gathering?

Are they... or are they not? Feb 24 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aside from the fact that Baroness Katerine De Moley and her Duelist Kaedin Darazin have denied the rumors that there is more then just a business relationship between them, well, actions may lead us to a different conclusion.

Aside from the Fact that in the mornings, Katerine and Kaedin have been spending time together, and Katerine has been wearing tasteful, very appealing makeup, and wearing well cut proper dresses, one is lead to think that maybe more then just friendship is there, but that's not enough to seal the deal you say? Well, this might.

At the Decados Unmentionable party, Kaedin and Katerine arrived, where a small kiss was given before they went off to mingle, then they left said party arm in arm. Other People have commented on how in the Spice market they were actively kissing each other until Baron Arkady came upon such a sight, some say he looked jealous, or disturbed, depending on whom you ask. Needless to say, those rumors that have quieted down about Kaedin being freed, and the reason for Katerine purchasing Kaedin in the first place have come to the front of this particular topic again. Which begs the question, what are the details?

And to add more to this story, talks of a love triangle and a possible duel between baronesses might happen, as Kaedin was seen escorting Baroness Seraphine. With Lady Seraphine looking particularly stunning, and Kaedin acting in what some might call a flirty mood. Along with this, other noble women's names have come up as well, speculated mostly about who is chasing after the Angelic Duelist.

Lesser Spotted DeMoley sighted Feb 24 2013 Anonymous

While it's no secret that the Baron of Newbridge tends to spend a larger portion of his time in his own lands than Akko, in the run up to this campaign season it is fair to say that Sir Martin DeMoley has been absent even by his own standards. Some say he's been distancing himself from teh actions of the former Vice-Count while others speculate that he has been working on ensuring his own defenses will stand if Sidon's do not.
Whatever the cause though, his absense seems to be over for a time at least as he was spotted arriving in the city two nights ago with a small contingents of men and aides. While he has spent most of his time taking various meetings in private there have also been reported sightings out and about in the city as well.

No Sign of Stopping Feb 24 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Great Storm, as some are calling it, continues to swallow the countryside in sand as it blows east. The peasants and country-folk of Haqq are not used to enduring the blasting winds and bite of flying dirt and sand and have hidden in the homes as best they can with the hope that the worst will pass quickly. The sandstorm continues eastward, and though its front has spread it does not seem to be dispersing or lessening in strength. Soon it will swallow the Castle of Joy, High Fen, and Fenford.
Though the storm has lessened somewhat in the west the skies of Avenal and Auberry remain choked with brown and the wind makes traveling outside an unpleasant experience. Flitter travel out of Avenal has largely ceased, and flitters flying to and from Auberry find they must climb high into the sky before turning south or eastward. The more superstituous folk of the lands there are already claiming some dark power is at work. The general consensus is that it is the price paid for the sins of the previous Lord of Auberry, though which sins of the now-departed Viscount caused this particular calamity are rarely specified.

Canons Hall Raid! Feb 27 2013 Anonymous

he Swords of Lextius raided the Canons Hall on Monday night, trying to arrest a number of the Lay Canons as well as several young knights for sedition under the Statute of Dissents. Questing Knights fought back -- Sir Vasiliy, Sir Maximillian, and Sir Marfin, aided by Lady Lysandra and an Engineer lass with curious goggles. Still, the Swords of Lextius under the command of Sir Jonas Welk were making inroads, capturing and clubbing dissidents as they fought the few defenders to a single table.
The tide turned when the Brother Battle arrived - under the command of Brother Moroko, Brother Benjamin and Brother Miles they intervened decisively on the side of the Questing Knights, driving the Swords away. Of course, what does this mean? Have the Brother Battle now picked a side in the simmering cold war between Sir William and House De Moley? And have they chosen the house of their founder? A council of war? Feb 28 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that whatever 'protection' Sir William attempted to impose upon the Countess of Johburg has not yet been sufficient to deprive her of either freedom of movement or her own security apparatus.

Last night, a flight of starfighters accompanied a dropship on a high-speed journey - skimming the waves of the Gulf to remain below the region's air defences and beneath the notice of the Kurgan orbital presence. With the final approach guarded by the pair of fusion-powered warships Johburg has committed to the Captain General's war plans, the high-tech squadron safely delivered the Countess to a summit conference with the Lord-General Caelwyn Li Halan and the Count of Leon.

Though they were subsequently joined by at least one of the latter's vassals (in the elegant form of the Lady Katerine De Moley), the Lord General's personal troops were very visibly on-guard around the pavilion, barring entry even to many who would normally have access to the command post. Thereafter, the Countess made a point of visiting the Amalthean medical facilities, seemingly offering her support to the work of the Order.

Crime in Akko (July) Feb 28 2013 Anonymous
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Lord Constable's takeover has lead to more Swords of Lextius exercising their power against the elites, but crime among the have-nots has continued largely unaltered by the shift in authority. Though there are fewer Crusaders today in the city on account of so many marching to war, those that remain appear to be making up for lack of numbers with greater belligerence to compensate.
A street brawl broke out between the personal guard of Lord Richaud de Moley, baronet of Josselin-by-the-Sea, and a group of crusaders. Both sides were badly beaten by the end of the fight, and no one is entirely sure what the fight was about: some say that it has something to do with Count Renaud's apparent love of the so called 'taifa lords', while others say it started when Richaud insulted the crusaders as his men passed.
A man was left hanging from a footbridge over an alleyway off of East Goat Road. The man was wearing peasant's clothing, with an upside down jumpgate cross painted on his chest in purple. Lashed to his hand by a strip of leather was a handful of daisies.
A family was found in their apartment's in the Drag, all but one dead of some wasting illness. The father, a man in his forties, was found emaciated and covered in sores when his neighbors finally investigated the smell. The man had been sitting in a corner mumbling to himself, apparently staring at the decaying corpses of his three children and wife. The Oubliette could not take the man and he was released onto the streets.
Parents in the Drag and Quayside areas no longer let their young children play out of eyesight any longer as more and more children under the age of ten have gone missing while playing among the docks and rocks down by the shoreline. Nearly two dozen children have gone missing and that is only counting those who have been officially reported to the local constabularies. Given that only the poor have had their children go missing no one have seen much profit in investigating further, though there were rumors of a young Brother Battle (barely more than a child himself) asking questions.
A member of the Prospector's guild is being held by the Copper Guard until the Lay Canon's can hear his defense. He and several hired peasants were caught trying to steal a 'carbon lattice destabilizer' from the warehouse of Supreme Order of the Engineers Fellow Hu. The Prospector, a ruddy-faced round little man named Herbert Mums, is said to have proclaimed that it was all a big misunderstanding.
These crimes stand out as newsworthy, but there are hundreds more that occur in the city of Akko that simply are too commonplace to create comment. Several murders occurred in the poorer districts, mostly because of money though at least one because of infidelity. A retaliation for rape, which itself rarely is ever reported, may have been behind the severe beating of a fishmonger Quayside. Crushed, fermented billex leaves continue to be sold among the poor despite the long-term health effects of inhaling the intoxicating dust.
As the Lords, Priests, and Guilders play their games of land, faith, and money it is the poor who bake in the hot summer sun and struggle to continue their lives as best they can, their daily trials and tribulations ignored.
