Melee Combat

Melee Combat follows all of the same rules as the basic task resolution system with the additional rules listed below.

Basic Melee Combat

Stances

Balanced Stance: No bonus. VPs add to damage if win, VPs subtract from opponent's VPs if lose.

Aggressive Stance: +2 to roll. VPs add to damage if win. VPs do not subtract from opponent's VPs if lose.

Defensive Stance: +2 to roll. No damage on win. VPs subtract from opponent's VPs if lose.

Resolution

Dexterity + (Melee/Fight)

The Edge

The Edge represents the side that has the initiative in a battle. The side that rolls the highest number of VPs in a round receives the Edge for the next round. The side with the Edge receives a +1 bonus to combat rolls.

Armor Soak

Subtract applicable armor soak from damage.
